Insulated Boom

This is a specialised piece of equipment designed and built by Southern Cranes to install electrical switchgear and components on electrical networks.

The unit is purpose-built for foundation drilling, pole boring, standing poles, and the maintenance and construction of power lines including changing live lines and other works.

The reinforced fibreglass section with a steel eye at one end fits to a Proline 5/10 crane borer pole guide. The high voltage insulated section is 1.2 m, which exceeds the creepage length requirements specified in AS1418.10 for an insulation rating of 66kv.

With a safe working load of 500kg this unit is ideal for glove and barrier work.
